Michael Neer - November 10 - Salute to our Veteran's
      Michael Neer is a member of he Kansas Commission on Veterans" Affairs, Governor Kathleen Sebelius appointed him to that position in 2005. 

Colonel Neer served 31 years in the United States Army.  He was drafted as a private in 1965m was commissioned through Officer Candidate School in 1967 and retired as a colonel in 1996.  He served with the 5th Special Forces in Vietnam, the 9th Infantry Division, 82nd Airborne Division, two tours in Europe with V Corps, and n numerous other command and staff assignments. 

He is currently the President of the Association of the United States Army-Kansas City Chapter, and serves on the boards of Sunflower Chapter - Military Officers' Association of America, the Missouri Executive committee ESGR,  and the Special Forces Association Chapter 29.  he is also an ambassador for the Army's Freedom Team Salute Program.
